Colony Building

I did not spend alot of time in the colony, but I did take a quick look at how the interface worked. On the radar map, there are some toggles which display various statistics over structures so you can quickly analyze where your colony stands. Couple this with reports in the game, and it reminds me of a 3D version of SimCity on Steroids! There appeared to be several types of structures in place, which will give alot of diversity in how one would go about colony warfare.

Trading

Clicking on each structure would present you with information in a small window about it. Hovering over each area of this information window resulted in a brief description about what the numbers represented. Resources for Maintenance, the maintenance cost, energy requirements, current population, growth rate, etc. I had some buttons available to repair, stop, and even destroy the structure as well.

Savant sent me a message asking if I was ready to continue the tour. It took only a brief moment to exit the colony mode and return to the adventure.

Savant lured me to a local dungeon located in the norther part of town. I got to attack a few slugs, giant slugs, and protes. Some of these critters happily explode upon death as their "dying animation". They'll leave items behind like healing potions, which are left on the ground. I can't be certain as to whether anyone may pick up these items, or only those involved in the slaying of the beast.

Garbage collection for a corpse is quick. Only after about 5 seconds, the corpse will dissappear. Items seem to last a lot longer, as I had not dedicated the time to stand and watch an item decay.

Dundee

After exiting the dungeon, Savant had given me a tour of about 4 different "zones" around the town. He was especially prowd of the crocodiles nicknamed "Dundee". Some of these guys will shoot spikes at your from there tails! The large assortment of monsters and the attributes that they posessed were just amazing. There were monsters everywhere. Back tracking a few steps would reveal that respawns were quick to take place.

Walking into each zone is almost seemless. You pause for a moment and then continue on your way. I had zoned and noticed that a monster was still coming after me accross the zone line. Upon slaying the foul best, an item was left behind in the other zone which required a zoning into that zone, and then another to come back and continue on my tour with Savant. The act of zoning happens rather quickly. I'd estimate 1, perhaps 2 seconds tops.

Walking Behind Walls

It was getting late and we were about to head back to town. Savant appeared to be lost in the desert and had to back track before he knew where he was at. When we walked through the gates into town, I noticed that they became transparent so that you could see yourself along with anything that others may have dropped.

We said our good byes and logged out of the game, peacefully and entertained with new addictions.
